Scope Control · Pilot help
Your work. Your browser.
Estimates and photos are stored in this browser. They are not automatically synced or backed up to an account.
Where is my work saved?
Estimates, prices and business settings use this browser’s local storage. Photos use its local database. Another browser, device, or website address may show a different workspace. Use getscopecontrol.com consistently. Private browsing, clearing site data, browser cleanup, or losing a device can remove your work.
“Saved here” means a local save, not a cloud backup. Installing the app on your home screen is convenient, but does not guarantee retention or create a backup.
How do I back up and restore?
- Open Business → Export backup.
- Save the JSON file somewhere you can recover it if this phone is lost. Backups contain your customer information and photos; keep them private.
- Verify the download exists. The app’s last-backup date records an export, not proof that your file is safe.
- To recover, use Business → Import backup. Import replaces that browser’s workspace after confirmation. Export existing work first. Test restoration in an empty workspace and compare estimates and photos.
What happens when I dictate notes?
Voice dictation uses your browser’s speech recognition. Your browser may send audio to its provider’s speech service and may need an internet connection. Typing notes avoids that speech service. You control the microphone permission in your browser or device settings.
Walkthrough notes are private by default and are not printed. Only text you deliberately add to the customer scope or exclusions appears there. Attached job photos do appear on the estimate.
Does Scope Control send estimates?
No automatic sending occurs. Share PDF hands a file to another app; Download PDF saves a file for you to attach. Neither confirms customer receipt. After sending it yourself, select “I sent it — mark as sent.” Follow-up reminders use that recorded date. Customer acceptance and delivery tracking are not provided.
Can I work offline?
Open the app online first so its essential files can be cached. Notes, pricing and saved estimates can then be used offline when the browser retains that cache. Voice services and sending through other apps may require a connection. Test offline operation on your own phone before relying on it in the field.
What does the pilot cost?
The current pilot is free to use without a login. No subscription checkout, estimate limit, account sync or payment processing is implemented in this app.
Phones and support
This is a browser app. Camera, voice, sharing and storage behavior varies between Safari, Chrome and home-screen installations. Physical-device acceptance testing is still in progress; no universal compatibility guarantee is made.
During the pilot, report problems to the person who invited you. Include the screen name, device/browser, and steps that caused the problem. Remove customer information from screenshots before sharing them.
Website and exported files
The site host receives ordinary website requests when you load the app. App records are not automatically uploaded to a Scope Control account. Files you export, share, or copy leave the app under your control and are subject to the storage or messaging service you choose.
